Chiến tranh Việt Nam (Vietnam war) bắt đầu từ những năm 1954 đến hết tháng 4 năm 1975 mới kết thúc. Đã hơn 39 năm trôi qua, nhưng những dấu ấn của nó để lại thực sự sâu trong lòng người Việt nói riêng (bao gồm cả bên thắng cuộc Việt Nam và thua cuộc Viet nam Cong hoa), những quân nhân Mỹ và toàn thể bạn bè anh em thế giới nói chung. Chiến tranh Mỹ xâm lược Việt Nam là một cuộc chiến tranh tốn kém đứng top 3 những cuộc chiến tranh tốn kém nhất về kinh tế trong lịch sử. Người Mỹ dồn toàn bộ tâm huyết cho cuộc chiến nhằm thôn tính và chiếm dữ toàn bộ vùng kinh tế trọng điểm không chỉ của Châu Á này.

Tuy nhiên, tổn thất kinh tế lại là chủ đề ít được bàn đến ở đây, mà những tổn thất về con người và tinh thần thì vẫn mãi còn đó, đeo đuổi những con người còn sống lại, mới là điều đáng được bàn nhiều nhất.
